Extending Hospitality
Holiday Baskets
Organize, pack and distribute baskets of holiday goodies for Rosh Hashanah and Pesah to widows and widowers.

New Member Bags
Pack and deliver welcome bags to new members.

Hosting and Matching
Match host families with local college students and other Beth El families for holidays and Shabbatot.

Shabbat Greeters
Arrange for Shabbat morning greeters to welcome people and provide handouts.

Mishloah Manot *
(Purim treats) Be part of this project that sells, packages, and delivers Purim treats to congregants and friends, fulfilling one of the mitzvot of Purim.

Shul Chauffeurs
Sign up to extend a ride to congregants unable to drive to services or synagogue activities.

Visiting the Sick
Blood and Bone Marrow Drives
Help organize yearly blood drives and bone marrow drives as needed.

Cards
Send get well cards to congregants in the hospital.

Delivering Nosh Boxes *
Deliver nosh boxes filled with nutritious and easyto- prepare non-perishables to congregants just out of the hospital.

Nursing Home Visits *
Provide regular visits to our congregants in Sholom Home West.

Preserving the Earth
Gardening *
Help maintain the beautiful gardens at Beth El through watering and weeding and occasional planting.

Feeding the Hungry
Feed My Starving Children *
Work every other month at Feed My Starving Children bagging food for children in third-world countries. Great opportunity for children as well as adults.

Holiday Serving *
Serve Christmas and Easter meals to seniors living in low-income housing. Drivers and entertainers also needed. Children welcome.

Loaves & Fishes
Provide a meal at the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen – cook, serve and clean.

Mazon
Solicit 3% cost of events as a donation for Mazon, the National Jewish Response to Hunger.

Ronald McDonald House
Cook and serve meals to families staying at Ronald McDonald House.

STEP
Organize food collection drives for the St. Louis Park Emergency Program Food Shelf.

Honoring the Poor
Affordable Housing
Engage in painting, building and site improvement projects in the community with organizations such as, Avodah B’yachad, Habitat for Humanity, Project for Pride in Living (PPL).

Clothing Drive
Sponsor and help administrate yearly Beth El clothing drives.

Jewish Coalition for Literacy
Join in this national project to promote literacy and focus on building reading skills of children ages five through nine. Work with children in the schools by one to one tutoring or reading aloud to them.

Mitzvah Crib
Organize and distribute items donated to the Beth El Mitzvah Crib.

Tzedakah Centerpieces
Help maintain made-toorder simha centerpieces, the proceeds from which benefit local agencies.
